Camden celebrates 500 bike hangars across the borough

Camden have recently reached a notable milestone following the installation of the five hundredth bike hangar in the borough, providing around 3,000 secure cycle parking spaces for residents.

Residents from across Camden have told us they need more safe and secure places to park their bikes – and we’ve been responding to that demand.

We are committed to providing bike hangars on our streets and housing estates as part of our residential cycle parking programme, which provides covered, secure, and fully enclosed bike parking spaces for residents.

Our cycle hangars are provided by Cyclehoop and give people who may not have space to store a bike at home a secure and convenient option close to where they live.

When residents request more cycle parking in their area, we look at local demand and consult with people living nearby before installing a new hangar. With residents continuing to join the waiting list for spaces, we know there’s more to do.

Councillor Slater continued:

“We have also worked with Cyclehoop to introduce two new Hooplr Trip cycle hangars on Goods Way in King’s Cross, giving people visiting the area a safe and secure place to park their bikes for shorter stays.

“These are ideal for workdays, running errands, meeting up with friends or quick trips across the borough.”
