We’re saying thank you this Giving Tuesday

Today marks Giving Tuesday, and we’re celebrating the amazing acts of kindness and compassion we’ve seen in Camden as part of the response to coronavirus. We’re immensely proud of the generosity shown in these difficult times and are amazed by the desire to help.

We’re extremely lucky to have a huge community spirit in Camden and it’s fantastic to see people taking action to help others. We’d like to say a huge thank you to all of the key workers, volunteers, community groups, businesses and everyone that has helped to play their part.

We’d love to hear your stories of generosity and community spirit in Camden. Share yours with us on Twitter using the hashtag #WeMakeCamden

If you’d like to give food, volunteer time or donate to Camden’s amazing community response, we’ve listed some of the ways in which we’re encouraging people to give below:

Donate to Camden Giving

Camden Giving’s Covid-19 charity fund aims to support charities, community groups and social enterprises helping those at most need in #Camden. All donations will support local organisations - Camden Giving has distributed £150k to local organisations so far. Your donations are greatly appreciated

Donate to QCCA’s ‘Ifta for all’

Queens Crescent Community Association (QCCA), are helping residents to enjoy Ifta this Ramadan. With mosques closed and families facing hardship, QCCA is opening its doors each evening during the holy month to give 150 people a free hot meal to take away and enjoy at home. They are asking for donations to cover the costs of the ingredients

Volunteer

We’re delighted that over 2,000 people have so far volunteered via Time to Spare platform. This is on top of those who have volunteered through other routes such as NHS GoodSAM and via local organisations. If you would like to help your neighbours and others in your communities, you can join our network of volunteers here - our brokerage team is working hard to match volunteers with local organisations
