Volunteers' Week 2016

This year Volunteers’ Week will run from 1 to 12 June, enabling more people than ever to take part.

As well as helping worthwhile causes, volunteering can help you to develop new skills and meet interesting new people. There are plenty of ways to give your time, whether you have a few hours to spare or want to help out regularly on a long-term project.

Opportunities include providing support at local sports events, helping out in a local library or museum, caring for older people in the community, or helping to conserve the borough’s green spaces. So, whatever your age and interests, there’s something for you.

To mark the week, there are two free Volunteering Fairs, where you can meet local organisations who would benefit from your help. So, why not come along and see how you could get involved?

  • Volunteering Fair: Wednesday 1 June, 12 to 4pm

Voluntary Action Islington, 200a Pentonville Rd, N1 9JP (nearest Tube: King’s Cross / St Pancras)

  • Volunteering Fair: Wednesday 8 June, 11am to 3pm

220 Arlington Road, NW1 7HE (nearest Tube: Camden Town)

Sign up for your free ticket.

Take part in our survey

To continue to support local organisations and volunteers throughout the year, we are undertaking a short survey that aims to find out what organisations are already doing and what – if anything – would best help them to recruit, support and retain volunteers. We will use this information to improve the support we offer. The survey only takes a few minutes to complete and is confidential.

The deadline to complete the survey is Friday 8 July 2016.
