Update on part two of Chalcots Review
Scoping of part two of the Chalcots Review is to get underway, following the publication of the Grenfell report.
Council Leader Richard Olszewski and his Cabinet have instructed Council officers to proceed with plans for the second part of a review into the Chalcots Estate.
Councillor Richard Olszewski, Leader of Camden Council, said: “Following the publication of the Grenfell report, I have instructed officers to proceed with the scoping of stage two of the review into the Chalcots Estate. Ensuring our residents are as safe as possible is the most important thing we do, and our current work to install non-combustible cladding with the highest safety rating will complete next year.
“It's really important that we fully understand the full implications of the Grenfell report. That's why our officers are analysing it right now with a view to applying it to future resident safety work here in Camden.
"The analysis of the report’s findings will also help to inform the second stage of our review and of course we will share findings as soon as the review is complete.”
The first part of the review was published in June 2018. Further details of the review and timing will be provided in due course.
