Tell us your views about Brexit

Dealing with the impact of Brexit will be a key issue for the Council over the coming years and we want to understand your needs and concerns as the United Kingdom prepares to leave the European Union. We have established a cross-party Brexit working group to help understand the impacts of the decision and to help secure the best possible deal for Camden.

A key part of understanding the impact of Brexit on the borough will involve hearing from Camden-based businesses, organisations from different sectors, and people who live and work in the borough.

We want Camden residents to contribute to our review of the impact of Brexit by sending us your comments about the impact that you think Brexit will have on you, your community and the borough.

You can submit your written statement online at our ‘We are Camden’ consultation page.

We are particularly interested in hearing the views residents, businesses and organisations on the following:

  • What impact Brexit will have on people living and working in the borough
  • What future plans you have already chosen to put in place, or are considering putting in place to respond to the anticipated impact of Brexit?
  • What measures the we can put in place to mitigate any negative impacts of Brexit in support of people living and working in the borough, and organisations based in the borough?
  • What measures the we can put in place to maximise the opportunities presented by Brexit in support of people living and working in the borough, and organisations based in the borough?

What you tell us will help to shape the issues we lobby the Government on such as, advocating for the protection of the rights of EU citizens living and working in the borough, securing support to businesses, and continuing to support the conditions for local economic growth following Brexit.

You can find out more about the Brexit working group on our website.

Sarah Hayward, Leader of Camden Council, made a statement following the government’s triggering of Article 50, the formal notification of the UK’s intention to leave the EU. You can read Cllr Hayward’s statement here.
