Take part in the Camden future libraries consultation
The Camden future libraries consultation launches today and will run for 12 weeks until Tuesday 6 October 2015.
We are consulting on how we might save £800,000 from the service’s current budget of £4.5m. Although we have less money available, we will aim to invest £3.7 million to create a modern library service that supports both existing and future customers and best meets the needs of Camden residents.
We have been listening to the views of library users since March 2015 and asking what the future role of our libraries could be. Over 700 people shared their views via the future libraries ideas hub on voXup and the feedback from this engagement process has helped to inform the proposals presented in our formal consultation survey.
You can help us decide how future spending should be prioritised by completing the consultation survey which is available online at camden.gov.uk/futurelibraries
Alternatively, you can pick up and return completed surveys to one of our nine Camden libraries or, for Home Library Service customers, you can request a copy from the driver on their next visit.
Following the consultation, a decision on how our libraries service will be provided in the future is expected to be made at December Cabinet.
