Stay home to save lives over the bank holiday weekend
Friday marks the start of a four-day bank holiday weekend. Warm weather is forecast but the guidance remains the same - please stay at home. Doing this will prevent the spread of coronavirus, it will protect your health and the health of loved ones and it will save lives.
Parks and open spaces should be used for essential exercise only (once a day). These spaces should not be used for sunbathing, picnics, barbeques or sports – doing this puts everyone’s health at risk. If you are exercising, please stay local and avoid areas when busy. Always maintain a 2m distance from others. If you have your own garden, please use that so that others without can have space in our parks.
We know parks are a lifeline and we want to keep them open. However, we’ll be monitoring the situation closely and will be forced to close them if people do not follow the guidance.
Keeping everyone safe
To help make sure people are following the guidance, we’ll have a frontline team out across Camden over the Bank Holiday weekend. The team will offer support and advice to residents and businesses on safe social distancing. Their aim is to keep everyone safe.
The team will make sure residents are following government guidance in parks and open spaces, asking people to disperse where necessary. They will also make sure that local businesses are maintaining 2m distancing to protect customers and their workforce.
You’ll recognise our officers as they’ll be wearing Camden high visibility jackets with ‘stay home, protect the NHS, save lives’ - they’re working to keep you and everyone else safe.
