Statement marking the death of His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh

Camden Council is saddened to learn of the death of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

Councillor Maryam Eslamdoust, Mayor of Camden
“We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh, the longest-serving royal consort in British history.

“Our condolences are with Her Majesty the Queen and the rest of the Royal Family.

“The Duke visited Camden on several occasions during his many years of royal service, more recently when he visited the British Museum and in 2012 when he attended the opening of the Royal Manuscripts exhibition at the British Library.

“As a mark of respect, we will be flying the Union Flag at half-mast from today until the Duke’s funeral.

“Due the current national lockdown restrictions, Camden residents who wish to pay their respects are encouraged to sign the online book of condolence available on The Royal Family website.”
