Start the school holidays with our summer programme

The school holidays have officially kicked off and there’s plenty to discover from our spectacular schedule of events and activities!

We’ve had a great opening week with lots of people coming to events so far. We’ve made it easy to find something for everyone, dividing events into six ‘discover’ categories, with a diverse selection for you to explore.

Discover what’s on your doorstep in the dozens of parks and open spaces around the borough. This week it’s Love Parks Week so join the celebration at Alexandra Road Park from 11am, 21 July, with live music, face painting, animal adventure games and more.

Under 11’s can Discover a new way to get active with a maze of ball pools, slides and rope swings at Talacre Treetops, weekdays throughout the school holidays.

If you’re looking for inspiration, arts and culture then you can Discover a new world at one of many exhibitions and talks taking place at our museums and galleries. The Summer Reading Challenge offers children the chance to immerse themselves in the wonderful world of Roald Dahl, so swing by your local library and sign up. Alternatively, young people can Discover a new talent at Camden Summer University with fantastic courses in drama, dance, art, filmmaking and more.

Waltz your way to a traditional tea dance and Discover a new delight from 12.30pm at the Camden Centre, 22 July, or get involved with some of our special Camden Sentido events.

Camden Sentido

We have partnered with Camden Market to create a special series of events to celebrate the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Camden Sentido (Portuguese for ‘the senses') aims to capture the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of Camden and Brazil and the feelings that connect them. This week’s events include a Family Fun Day at Lismore Circus with the unveiling of a new artwork by local residents with art duo Walls on Walls, as well as Brazilian food, live music and games until 6pm; and Sensing King’s Cross a summer walking tour sure to excite all five of the senses.

There’s something for everyone, so get in the summer spirit and make it one to remember.
