Share your views on the proposals for Highgate Newtown Community Centre

Live in Highgate or just interested in the development? You’re invited to view and comment on proposals for the redevelopment of Highgate Newtown Community Centre (HNCC).

The development will include a new sports hall and premises for the Fresh Youth Academy (FYA) and new private for sale homes to fund new community buildings.

Over the last three months residents have had the opportunity to share their views on the design and layout of the new facilities proposed. Thank you to everyone who has already commented on the proposals.

To get involved, complete the survey online. You will also be able to formally respond to the planning application as part of the statutory planning process.

Community Centre

New facilities proposed for Highgate Newtown Community Centre include: hireable spaces for community use, ceramic and woodworking facilities, a small gym, re-provision of a large high-ceiling sports hall and a café in the reception area - which will act as a training kitchen, and will offer a variety of affordable meals for older people.

Fresh Youth Academy

Additions proposed to the current Youth Academy facilities will include office space and an interview room, to expand the service across the Integrated Youth Services.

The redevelopment of HNCC is part of our Community Investment Programme, a 15 year plan to invest money in schools, homes and community facilities.

We are reviewing all the feedback before finalising the design in June.
