Paid for parking machine switch off

Parking in Camden is going cashless and all paid for parking machines will be switched off before the end of this year.

People who want to park in the borough will still have plenty of ways to pay for parking including:

  • downloading the RingGo app to their smartphone
  • paying online at myringgo.co.uk
  • phoning 020 3003 2532
  • texting 81025.

The move follows a successful trial in the summer which took place in three areas in Camden. Paid for parking machines were temporarily covered and payments were encouraged via phone or online. The trail recorded over 75,000 successful transactions.

Camden aims to find better ways to provide services to our residents whilst creating a sustainable and attractive borough. Online payment now constitutes around 90% of Camden’s paid for parking transactions. There has also been an increase in mobile payments using the RingGo service, while payments made directly via paid for parking machines has significantly reduced.
