Over 200 Camden families received Christmas gifts thanks to the Mayor’s Toy Appeal

The Mayor of Camden’s 2022 Toy Appeal ended on the 21 December, with gifts delivered to families in need across the borough in time to be placed under the Christmas tree.

Each year the Mayor of Camden invites Camden residents and businesses to donate toys, toiletries, gift vouchers or clothes to make sure that every child and young person in Camden receives a present for Christmas. This year has been particularly challenging for many, with the rising cost of living impacting people’s finances in an unprecedented way.

It was heart-warming to see how many residents and local organisations donated toys and gifts for families who needed them this Christmas. It’s a difficult time for many of our residents, but thanks to the generosity of our communities, many children and young people were able to receive a present this year. Thank you to everyone who has taken part – your donations made a real difference.

Gifts have been distributed by Camden Family Services, social workers and early help teams to children and teenagers in care or living in poverty. This year at least 200 families received toys, gifts, books and hampers from the donations.
