November Cabinet: Developing Euston for all and our vision for Camden’s culture
On Wednesday 12 November, Camden’s Cabinet put into place plans that will help support the long-term development of Euston for the benefit of residents and businesses, including the redevelopment of some areas previously impacted by HS2 works. Cabinet also set out a vision for Camden’s cultural offering until 2031.

Camden sets intention to lead Euston Development Corporation
Cabinet set out its intention to establish a locally-led development corporation (LLDC) for Euston, working closely with the Mayor of London to create a new body that would drive the regeneration of the Euston area - creating thousands of jobs, new homes and economic growth for the UK.
The regeneration of Euston is a once-in-a-century opportunity to deliver huge economic growth for Britain that will translate into thousands of jobs for our residents here in Camden and across London.
Camden Council has a clear strategic overview, the delivery capability, and the strong partner and local relationships needed to create a development corporation that would transform the Euston area. We also have the experience and successful track record of shaping the Kings Cross development over the past 25 years, to generate economic growth and community benefits.
A locally-led development corporation will be a game-changer. It will bring partners together under Camden’s leadership to write the next chapter of Euston’s vibrant story. We are already working closely with the GLA and our Government partners who will be transforming the stations. Together we will make Euston a place that works for the country, the capital and our communities.
New homes in Euston
Cabinet agreed plans for the redevelopment of the North of Regent’s Park Estate, including Cartmel, Coniston, Langdale blocks and Stanhope Parade.
With a shortage of good quality, affordable homes in Camden, the Council has been looking into how best to redevelop this area including much-needed affordable housing for residents, including for larger families.
A comprehensive plan for Euston’s future
Cabinet also reviewed the updated Euston Area Plan (EAP) Proposed Submission Draft.
This plan outlines the growth potential and the opportunity to create a quality place that could deliver 2,000 new homes and 10,000 to 17,500 new jobs for existing and new communities alike with, in and around Euston, and has been updated following consultation and engagement.
A bold vision for cultural development
Cabinet considered a vision for the cultural development of the borough to 2031.
This approach will support the cultural sector, grassroots artists, and creative businesses to unlock opportunities that benefit residents and communities, while seeking to protect and strengthen Camden’s identity and global reputation as a leading cultural borough.
