New funding open for local voluntary and community sector organisations
Camden Council has launched a new £400,000 ‘We Make Camden Project Fund’ to support organisations making a difference to residents in the borough.
Local not-for-profit organisations can now apply for grants of between £5,000 and £20,000 per year. The funding aims to support a range of projects that make a difference to Camden communities.
The council is focused on funding projects which contribute to one or more of the We Make Camden Missions – the long-term goals for the borough.
Camden’s voluntary and community sector plays a crucial role in making our borough a special place to be, where everyone is supported and included.
This funding aims to help organisations that have strong connections with our communities carry out their vital work and make a lasting difference to our residents.
This new fund is part of Camden Council’s £4 million per year investment programme for 2024-2031, recognising the critical role voluntary and community partners play in meeting needs and building community strength in Camden.
The fund is aimed at smaller not for profit organisations. We particularly encourage organisations that are led by, or are supporting, specific marginalised communities to apply – such as LGBTQ+ or disability organisations.
Applications for the first round of funding are open until Monday 27 January 2025. Following this first pilot of the We Make Camden Project Fund, there will be other chances to apply in 2025 and further rounds in years to come.
