HS2: Netley School takes part in hoarding competition

Pupils from Netley Primary School brought their artistic skills to paint the Robert Street HS2 replacement housing site hoardings on Wednesday 25 May.

The year 5 pupils were invited by our contractor Lovell to take part in the Considerate Constructors Scheme’s Ivor Goodsite hoarding competition. The pupils decorated the hoarding with a scene depicting the four seasons in the Lake District to tie in with the Lake District-themed names of the housing blocks on the Regent’s Park Estate.

Lovell will be inviting other local schools and youth groups to decorate hoardings over the next two years during the construction of the replacement homes.

HS2 replacement homes

Camden Council is currently building replacement homes for all council tenants and resident leaseholders set to lose their homes due to High Speed 2 (HS2), the new railway from London to Birmingham. Construction has commenced on six of the sites and should be completed by autumn 2017, ready for residents to move ahead of HS2 Ltd’s demolition works. Camden Council secured funding from HS2 Ltd for the replacement homes.
