Moving on to secondary school – open events 2022

Parents and carers can find out more about Camden secondary schools and how to apply at open events this autumn term.

As well as schools holding their own open days and evenings, Camden Council’s admissions team will be hosting a special Moving On event for parents of Year 5 and Year 6 pupils at Arlington House, Camden Town, on Wednesday 28 September, from 4pm to 6.30pm.

You’ll be able to speak with headteachers, student ambassadors and staff from Camden secondary schools, as well as talking to the Camden admissions team about the applications process. Please register at eventbrite.co.uk.

Camden secondary schools also hold open days and evenings during September and October (and in November for sixth forms). These are a great way to find out more about the schools for yourself before applying. You can download a Camden secondary schools open events 2022 poster here. Please note that William Ellis School have cancelled their open morning on Wednesday, 5 October due to the planned rail strike. However, the school's open mornings on Tuesday, 4 October and Tuesday, 11 October are going ahead as planned from 9am to 10.30am on those days.

You can also read about Camden secondary schools, what they have to offer your child, and the admissions process in our annual Secondary Schools in Camden guide for parents, which is now published on our website.

The high-quality teaching and supportive environment at Camden's secondary schools aims to help every student reach their potential - whether your child’s aim is a place at a top university, an excellent apprenticeship or landing a great job.

Your child will be due to start secondary school in September 2023 if they were born between 1 September 2011 and 31 August 2012. The next round of Year 7 applications for 2023 entry begins from 1 September 2022. You need to apply before the deadline of 31 October 2022.

We’re proud of the education we offer in Camden. Our secondary schools are high achieving and ambitious for all students and committed to creative and vocational learning, with our unique Camden STEAM offer (science, technology, engineering, arts and maths). I’d urge parents and carers to see for themselves what our secondary schools have to offer by coming to Camden’s Moving On event, as well as visiting schools on their own open days and evenings.
