Last chance to take part in our future libraries consultation

Just two weeks to go until the future libraries consultation closes on 6 October 2015.

Although we need to make savings, we will aim to invest £3.7 million in our library service and want as many people as possible to tell us how we should prioritise our spending in the future.

So far, well over 1000 people have responded to our survey, but we want to hear from as many people as possible on what they think a modern library service should look like and how we can best meet the needs of new and existing library users. If you haven’t already, please complete the survey and encourage friends and family to also have their say.

Completing the future libraries survey

There is an adult survey and a children and young person’s survey available, both of which can be completed online at camden.gov.uk/futurelibraries.

Printed copies of the consultation are available at all nine Camden libraries. Don’t forget to drop consultation surveys back to the library once completed.

What happens next?

No decisions have been made yet. Once the consultation is complete we will review the responses and consider all of the information available to us on future library trends, community needs and the impact any changes might have on our most vulnerable customers. We will then propose a new library strategy to Camden’s Cabinet in December 2015. Subject to the changes being approved, we plan to start to implement the new library strategy from April 2016.
