Know You’re Not Alone: Standing together against domestic abuse

With only 35% of incidents thought to be reported, domestic abuse is an issue that still remains behind closed doors.

Last month our campaign to tackle domestic abuse launched. One aim of the campaign is to get people talking about the issue to continue to break down the silence that can surround it. As a community, talking about what is and isn’t acceptable in a relationship and not tolerating or accepting damaging behaviors, is something we can all do to help.

We know that abusive behaviour, including emotional, psychological, sexual, financial or physical abuse, should never be part of a loving relationship. Knowing the signs to look out for, both in your own relationships, and in those around you, whether it’s a family member, friend or neighbour, is key to tackling domestic abuse and getting help for the people who need it.

If you are concerned that someone you know may be experiencing domestic abuse of any kind, call our confidential support service, Camden Safety Net, to talk in confidence to our friendly advisors.
