Join us for the Camden 50 birthday party

To celebrate our borough turning the golden age of 50, we have collaborated with The Roundhouse to host a special summer party for our residents on Camden Beach.

Pack your bucket and spade because next Monday (3 August) Camden's sandy site will come to life with live music, dancing and performances and we want you to join us. We've lined up the Camden-based music trio Pocketclub – one of The Roundhouse’s resident artists – to bring you an unforgettable live show. We also have a DJ on hand to immerse you in the sound of summer.

Artist Elly Clarke will be presenting 'live oral histories' by interviewing on stage three of the borough’s long-term residents from her Camden Encounters project. Part of Camden 50, Elly’s Camden Encounters project uses video, audio and photography to gather residents’ site-specific 'sticky memories' at the location to which they belong.

The action-packed day will also include our very own Great Camden 50 Bake Off, which we are inviting all residents to enter. Whether it's a Camden-inspired loaf or a traditional 50th birthday cake, we want to try your creations. Bakers from the world famous Primrose Bakery will be judging the entries and one lucky winner will have the chance join their coveted cupcake decorating master class.

How to get your ticket

The summer party takes place on Monday 3 August from 2.30 to 5pm and is a free event open to all Camden residents, however, space is limited and tickets will be issued on a first come first serve basis.

To get your hands on a ticket all you have to do is email [email protected] with your name and address – you will be required to bring proof of address to the beach on the day to prove you are a Camden resident.

Guests are welcome to stay at the beach after 5pm, when the venue opens to the public.
