HS2: Preparatory works for replacement homes

Camden Council Development Control Committee resolved to grant planning permission to build 116 new homes across eight sites on the estate on Thursday, 3 September 2015. This means that all council tenants and resident leaseholders set to lose their home to HS2 will have a replacement home to move into.

Our contractor Lovell Partnership Ltd and the sub-contractor will be undertaking trial pit excavations and other surveys between Monday, 21 September and Thursday, 1 October 2015. These preparatory works will enable the main construction works.

Approximate timetable for excavations on each site

Newlands, Former One Stop Shop: 21–23 September 2015

Varndell Street: 23–25 September 2015

Dick Collins Hall: 24–29 September 2015

Robert Street Carpark: 25–29 September 2015

St Bedes Mews: 28–29 September 2015

Cape of Good Hope: 29 September–1 October 2015 (Site compound works take place 21 September to 1 October).

When does the main construction start and finish?

This is yet to be agreed, however, the proposed start date is January 2016. All the residents will be informed about the exact dates once it is agreed.

If you have any questions regarding these works please telephone Susan Botcherby on 020 7974 6427.
