HS2: Come to HS2 replacement housing planning application exhibition

We are preparing to submit a planning application for the remaining new homes we need to build to replace those lost to HS2.

You can come and see the planning application, including the latest proposed designs of the replacement homes, at an exhibition on Tuesday 9 June, 2-8pm, Surma Centre, 1 Robert Street, London, NW1 3JU.

We’ve now secured funding from HS2 Ltd. to build replacement homes for all Council tenants losing their flats if HS2 goes ahead. This payment also allows us to build enough new homes to offer resident leaseholders the opportunity to remain in the area and some additional affordable homes.

Providing the application is passed, we will begin building the homes in the autumn so that they are ready for residents to move into before HS2 start to demolish their current homes.

Got a query on the replacement homes process? Take a look at our Frequently Asked Questions and find out more about the impact of HS2 could have on housing in Camden on the HS2 section of our website.

Camden Council opposes plans for HS2 as currently proposed. If the government does go ahead with the scheme, Camden is committed to securing the best deal for our communities. Find out more here.
