Have your say on a Vision for Camden Town

Camden Council is inviting residents, visitors, businesses and other interested parties to share their views on issues they face while working, visiting or living in Camden Town and the opportunities to make Camden Town better.

Councillor Adam Harrison, Cabinet Member for Planning and a Sustainable Camden

Camden Town is both an internationally recognised destination and a local town centre. Its iconic markets, music venues, and businesses draw people in from across London, the rest of the UK, and the world but it also has an important role in providing shops and services for the local community.

We know however that Camden Town faces challenges, with many people feeling that it no longer works for them.

With the area’s importance in our local economy, combined with innovative work already being undertaken, notably the Camden High Street pedestrianisation trial, it is now the right time to move forward with a comprehensive vision for Camden Town.

To this end we are keen to hear from residents, businesses, community groups, visitors and anyone with an interest in the area to help us develop this vision, along the following themes: Culture; Safety; Community; Visitors; Heritage and Character; Economy, Business and Retail; Public Realm and Transport; and Climate and Greening.

A public engagement started on Thursday 3 July and will run for eight weeks until Sunday 31 of August.

o      Tuesday 15 July, 2pm – 6pm

o      Saturday 26 July, 11am – 3pm

o      Thursday 21, August 10am – 2pm

Following drafting of the vision in the Autumn, a public consultation will take place to seek views on it. Once approved, this will provide a framework to guide investment and collaboration on future priorities to support a unique, vibrant, safe, diverse and successful Camden Town.
