Grants of up to £5,000 available to fund local Youth Social Action projects
Camden Youth Council (CYC) are offering grants of up to £5,000 to fund projects that tackle issues most important to local young people.
The CYC work to amplify the voices of young people in Camden, and is made of young people who live, attend a school, college, or a youth club in the borough.
Last year, the CYC launched a Skills for Life survey to hear first-hand what issues are most important to young people in Camden. Improving youth safety, the environment and learning skills to help in future life were the three main areas that came up in the survey responses.
The Council has given £20,000 to the CYC to allocate to youth-led projects which aim to make Camden safer for young people, improve the local environment and help young people gain important skills for future life, including support with finding a job and managing finances.
Applications are now open for young people aged 12 to 19, or up to 25 with special educational needs or disabilities, who live, work or go to school in Camden.
We are passionate to hear from and provide young people in Camden with the opportunity to take action to address the issues they feel strongly about. We want to see as many young people as possible come forward and share their brilliant ideas to create change. We look forward to reading and reviewing the applications.
As a council we want to do all we can to give young people a platform to make a real difference in their local neighbourhoods as well as involve them in addressing the issues that matter most to them. This is a fantastic opportunity for young people – if you are a young person and have ideas on how we can improve youth safety, ways to respond to climate change or how we can better equip young people for the future, I really encourage you to get involved.
All applications must be supported by a partner organisation, such as your school or youth club.
The deadline for submitting applications is midnight on Friday 1 September 2023.
