Grants available for organisations to deliver arts and culture projects for local children and young people
Camden Council has launched a new fund for arts and cultural organisations based in the borough to deliver learning programmes for children and young people.
The first round of the new Cultural Education and Learning Support Fund is now open for arts and culture organisations to apply for funding worth up to £25,000. The fund is aimed at providing more opportunities for local children and young people to access and experience arts and culture in Camden.
Funding awarded to cultural organisations, including museums, galleries, theatres, live-music venues, and creative agencies, can be used for a range of programmes for children and young people up to 25 years old who live or study in the borough to take part in, including workshops, events, performances, festivals, and exhibitions.
The aim of this fund is to give as many local children and young people as possible the opportunity to access the range of amazing arts and cultural institutions we have here in Camden, especially those who have not had the chance to do so before. It’s so important for more young people to learn more about culture and the arts, which not only promotes creativity and individuality, but can support mental health and wellbeing as well as help young people gain skills for a future career, and I’m delighted we will be supporting more local organisations to deliver programmes to help us achieve this.
Organisations must submit their applications for the first round of funding by midnight on Friday 14 July. Successful applications will be announced by the early autumn.
