Get ready for Rio with our summer programme

This week marks the start of the Olympic Games in Rio, so get ready and get set for another superb selection of free and low cost events.

We’ve made it easy to find something for everyone, dividing events into six ‘discover’ categories, with a diverse selection for you to explore.

Discover a new way to get active at Give it a Go! Festival’s free family fun days, this Friday from 2pm. Perfect for youngsters looking to get into the Olympic spirit, activities include trampolining, circuit training and a big bouncy castle.

If you’re looking for inspiration, arts and culture then you can Discover a new world at one of many exhibitions and talks taking place at our museums and galleries. This week, why not try Seven Kinds of Magic at the House of Illustration’s brand new Quentin Blake gallery?

Discover what’s on your doorstep and share a Brazilian BBQ with family and friends at one of our parks or open spaces.

Discover a new talent and transform recyclable paper into beautiful flowers at one of the Project Yemanja workshops happening at libraries around the borough. Or Discover a new delight with performances and festivals that are suitable for the whole family.

Camden Sentido

We have partnered with Camden Market to create a special series of events to celebrate the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Camden Sentido (Portuguese for ‘the senses') aims to capture the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of Camden and Brazil and the feelings that connect them.

Can’t make it to Rio for the Olympic Games? Then why not head down to Granary Square for King’s Cross Sports Day. Have a go at yoga, bootcamp training or rock-climbing, or try your hand at tightrope walking, sack racing, or even competitive egg and spoon – there’s plenty of fun for all ages so head down from 10am and go for the podium finish.

King’s Cross Sports Day will also offer opportunities to make paper flowers with Project Yemanja - so get in the summer spirit and make it one to remember.
