First neighbourhood planning referendum

Camden’s first neighbourhood planning referendum, on the Fortune Green and West Hampstead neighbourhood plan, will be held on Thursday 9 July.

A neighbourhood plan sets out a community’s vision for the local area and general planning policies to guide future development.

The Fortune Green and West Hampstead Neighbourhood Forum prepared its plan in consultation with residents, businesses, landowners and other stakeholder organisations.

Following formal examination, the next step is to hold a public referendum.

The referendum question on which eligible electors will vote is: ‘Do you want London Borough of Camden to use the neighbourhood plan for Fortune Green and West Hampstead to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?’.

All electors in the Fortune Green and West Hampstead neighbourhood planning area who qualify to vote in a local election will be eligible to vote in the referendum.

Further information about this and neighbourhood areas in Camden can be found online.
