“We know that levels of crime are rising nationally, and across London, and this is having an impact in Camden. I want to reassure you all that we are listening to your concerns and we are working with the police and our partners to make sure our communities across Camden are safe and feel secure.

The police are creating a new team of neighbourhood officers, to provide a reassuring presence and to keep people safe. These Officers will tackle crime in the worst affected areas of the borough.

We have invested additional resources to enhance the services we provide to rough sleepers over the winter months, including the creation of a ‘hotspot team’ that is working in key locations in partnership with the police. To support more people off our streets and to make sure both those sleeping on our streets and our communities are kept safe.

I would like to invite local residents to these events to talk about their concerns, share the impact it is having on their community, and look at how we can work together to make our neighbourhoods feel safe again for everyone.

More conversations are planned in the New Year, so I invite as many of you as possible to come along and join us at these events, to work with us to build a safer Camden.”
