Cityread London returns to Camden libraries

This April, our libraries are taking part in Cityread, London’s biggest annual book club.

This year’s novel is Gillian Slovo’s Ten Days, a thriller that traces a riot from its beginnings during a heat wave to its impact a year later.

Cityread London is an annual celebration of literature and culture in the capital that aims to bring reading to life for residents, workers and visitors.

Our libraries will be celebrating Cityread from Monday 4 April with copies of Ten Days for loan, along with special displays of books that echo the themes of this year’s Cityread novel, including London, protest, and class. Each library will also have a limited number of free books to give away on a first come, first served basis.

Free illustrated historical talk: ‘London – a City in Turmoil’

Historical researcher and former librarian Nick Dobson will discuss the history of riot and rebellion in the capital in a free, drop in talk on Tuesday 12 April at 7.15pm at Camden Local Studies and Archives Centre.
