Chief Executive’s Statement: Golders Green antisemitic attack
An investigation is under way and a man has been arrested following a stabbing incident in Barnet. Read the Metropolitan Police statement.
Jon Rowney, Chief Executive of Camden Council, said:
“This appalling antisemitic attack on two innocent men in Golders Green is deeply distressing for all of us in Camden. Our thoughts are with the men who have been attacked and with everyone affected by this.
"We stand with all residents, particularly those in our Jewish communities who I know will be very fearful following this attack. We are committed to doing all we can to make sure you are safe and that you feel safe.
“Together with the police, we are carrying out high visibility patrols both around our synagogues and faith sites, and in the neighbourhoods close to the borough boundary with Barnet. We are also speaking to Jewish faith leaders and other faith organisations to understand their concerns and offer reassurance and support to communities.
“No one in our communities should face violence, intimidation or threats - whether physical or verbal. Camden is no place for hate and we are here to support you.
“If you or anyone you know has experienced intimidation, threats, violence or hate then please do report it. We stand with you and we are here to help."
