Cheer on the Lionesses at Talacre!
England’s Lionesses take on Spain in the Women’s World Cup final in Australia this Sunday (20 August 2023) . This is the team’s first World Cup final and we know many Camden residents will be keen to cheer the Lionesses on!
Come along to our community screening at Talacre Town Green, Talacre Road, NW5 3PH (adjacent to Talacre Community Sports Centre) on Sunday 20 August. The event will be open from 9am, with the match beginning at 11am. Families are very welcome, and the event is open to everyone – so come on down and enjoy some great football.
If you’re able to walk or cycle to the screening, please do! Otherwise buses 46 and 393 stop right outside, or you can get a train to Kentish Town West or a tube to Camden Town or Chalk Farm (Kentish Town tube station is unfortunately closed). There will be toilets and security at the event. Please don’t bring any glass with you, and take any rubbish with you when you leave. Please also be considerate of local neighbours.
We’re also delighted to also be supporting a family and community screening of the match at The Dome (170 Weedington Road, NW5 4NU), hosted by Camden Community Centres Consortium. You can arrive from 10.30am for the 11am kick-off. There will be free refreshments, but please note strictly no alcohol is permitted at this event.
We’re really keen to bring our local communities together for this special occasion – so please do share this information with your friends and neighbours.

The Lionesses have given us another incredible summer following their Euro win last year - and we're all behind them as they look to secure a historic first World Cup win for England since the men in 1966. They are truly inspirational, particularly to women and girls, some of who are now playing football for the first time. I'll be down at Talacre cheering them on and I know many of our community centres are also showing the match. Come on England!
Pubs across Camden will be able to open early to serve customers ahead of the Women’s World Cup Final on Sunday morning.
