Celebrating South Asian Heritage in Camden

Camden is celebrating South Asian Heritage Month with a series of events to showcase the traditions, arts, and contributions of the borough’s South Asian communities.

Running until 17 August, South Asian Heritage month is a chance for communities to come together and honour, recognise and celebrate the rich history of South Asia.

To celebrate, Camden is hosting a series of events, including a community festival with dance, music and food, with the final event ‘Regents Roots Festival’ taking place around Drummond Street taking place on 3 August.

Councillor Sabrina Francis, Cabinet Member for Young People and Culture

This year we’re celebrating South Asian Heritage Month, delivered in partnership with cultural organisations and the community, to educate and inspire a better understanding of the diversity of Camden. South Asians have enriched British culture through music, dance and food and this gives us the chance to recognise these invaluable contributions. I encourage communities from across Camden to get involved and join us at one of the season’s events.
