Camden’s free winter activities and food programme – book your place

Bookings are now open for children and young people to take part in free activity clubs during the winter school holidays.

The Camden Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Winter programme will run from 19 to 30 December and is open for children and young people aged five to 16 who are eligible for free school meals.

Co-ordinated locally by the Young Camden Foundation, the programme offers free, fun activities and nutritional education - from learning to make healthy meals, to creative activities, including photography, drama, arts and crafts, and sports such as football and basketball.

Councillor Marcus Boyland, Cabinet Member for Best Start for Children and Families

We know it’s a very challenging time for many families in Camden, and with nearly a third of pupils on free school meals, it’s vital for the Council and our partners to do as much as possible to support children and families through this winter. We hope this programme of free fun activities and food support will help children and young people to get the most out of the school holidays and help ease some pressure for families who need this support. We want all parents to check to see if they are eligible, so please apply, even if you're not sure.

Most HAF programmes will run between 10am and 2pm during the school holiday period. View all programmes and essential information.

Places are free for children and young people aged five to 16 who are eligible for free school meals. Infant pupils who receive a free meal under universal infant school meals should also qualify for benefits related to free school meals to get a place on the HAF programme.

Camden HAF providers are also ready to make arrangements for children with special educational needs and disabilities to take part in their programmes.
