Camden’s 50th anniversary

The sun may have taken a break from shining, but our celebration of all things Camden 50 continues.

Join the Women of Camden walking tour, which will take place on the 6 and 26 September from 11am to 1pm. Starting from Hampstead tube station, you will explore the history of some of the borough’s most inspiring past residents. You will also get the chance to meet our amazing Camden 50 artists, Ladies of the Press*, who will be joining the tour fresh from creating two new zines.

Marking the end of our series of film screenings highlighting films shot in Camden, the 90s classic Truly, Madly, Deeply will be playing at the Hospital Club on 12 September from 4.30 to 7pm. Shot on location in Highgate, the film stars Juliet Stevenson, who will also be there on the day to provide an introduction. Tickets for the screening and the walking tour are free, but need to be booked in advance.

And if you haven’t submitted your entry for our 50photos competition yet, you have until 15 September. Held in collaboration with the National Portrait Gallery, we are inviting you to share photos that capture what Camden means to you – or has meant to you over the past 50 years.
