Camden wins at the London Boroughs Apprenticeship Awards

We’re celebrating winning a prestigious award at the London Boroughs Apprenticeship Awards on 23 September.

The awards recognise best practice and successful outcomes in apprenticeships across London local authorities. Camden Apprenticeships team and Kings Cross Construction Skills Centre work together to deliver Camden’s apprenticeship service and they won the coveted “Best work with supply chains and local businesses” award.

The judges chose Camden because of the broad range of sectors we work with. They were impressed with the variety of new contractors we worked with this year and the support offered to local residents who have additional barriers to work.

The Council was also shortlisted for all of the other three award categories:

Best manager or mentor, for which Richard Merritt, customer services team manager was a runner up.

Best new apprentice, for which Rubina Chowdhury, who joined our economic development team in April was a runner up.

Best progression by an apprentice, for which Sylwester Sobolewski whose apprenticeship is in business support at our offices at 5 Pancras Square was a runner up.

If you think an apprenticeship might be the next step for you or someone you know, why not read more about Camden Apprenticeships, and Kings Cross Construction Skills Centre to see our current vacancies.

If you’re an employer who is interested in offering an apprenticeship to a young person in Camden, there’s more information about this here or if you want to offer a construction based opportunity you can find more information here.
