Camden welcomes £680k funding boost to support rough sleeping support services
Camden Council’s work to support residents facing homelessness gets a boost following £682,637 funding from Central Government on World Homeless Day.
The Council has received almost £700k in additional funding from Central Government as part of a £84million package to support the thousands of people who are experiencing homelessness across the Capital.
This boost will go towards funding more bed spaces for those rough sleeping as well as a number of support roles this year to drive this work forward, including investment into mental health team and specialist wellbeing support.
As a Council, we are doing everything we can to support those rough sleeping or at risk of homelessness. Each year, we invest millions into our rough sleeping and homelessness support services, we’re building hundreds of new homes and hostel spaces, and work to provide tailored health and wellbeing support to help people away from the streets and into long-term accommodation.
We welcome this funding which will allow us to fund vital bed spaces as well as expand our support services and fund more homelessness support roles. We know the work doesn’t stop here, and we will continue to do everything in our power with partners to address rough sleeping and homelessness in Camden.
Camden invests more than £39million a year into its rough sleeping and wider homelessness services to support those sleeping rough and at risk of homelessness.
