Camden schools to benefit from expanded Best Start free breakfast clubs
The government has announced the expansion of the Best Start free breakfast clubs, with seven Camden primary schools set to offer more children a healthy, nourishing start to their school day.
The following Camden schools will offer this free breakfast provision:
- Richard Cobden Primary School
- Edith Neville Primary School
- Fleet Primary School
- St Mary's Kilburn Church of England Primary School
- Brecknock Primary School
- Hawley Primary School
- St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School
Extending free breakfast clubs to more of our schools is a vital step in supporting Camden families. This will help break down
barriers to opportunity enabling every child to start the school day ready to learn with a hungry mind, rather than a hungry belly.
We know many parents continue to struggle with the cost of living and this scheme means that all these Camden children are guaranteed a healthy, filling breakfast that will get them set up for the school day. These clubs give parents more time and flexibility in the mornings to help them manage their own working lives or other caring responsibilities they may have.
This forms part of Camden Council’s ongoing commitment to support families across the borough amid continuing cost of living pressures. Camden Council and its partners will keep working closely with schools, families and local organisations to ensure every child in Camden has the opportunity to thrive.
