Camden marks Remembrance Day 2026
This week, Camden joins communities to remember those who have died in and lost loved ones to conflict – and everyone who has been affected by war.
There are a number of wreath-laying ceremonies and Services of Remembrance happening across the borough. The council will also be observing the two-minute silence on Armistice Day (11 November) at 11am.
Mayor of Camden Councillor Patricia Leman and Deputy Mayor Councillor Sylvia McNamara are representing Camden at Remembrance events, including at the POW WWII Memorial in Mornington Crescent and the Chenies Street War Memorial.
We honour everyone who has served in conflict, and particularly those who gave up their lives and sadly were not able to return to their families and communities. We thank them for their sacrifice.
I am also thinking of everyone around the world whose lives have been affected by war and conflict. It is so moving to bring together so many people from all different backgrounds to pause, reflect and remember. This is a time to renew our commitment in Camden to always standing against hate and division, and working towards peace.
