Camden invites technology leaders to explore innovative digital solutions to key challenges

Ahead of London Tech Week next month, technology leaders from a range of industries will come together on Tuesday (7 May) for the first session in Camden’s External Challenge – Our Digital Future. This initiative is a first-of-its-kind approach to working with experts outside of Camden to explore potentially life changing solutions to some of the key challenges people in the borough face.

Camden has a unique history of being bold, innovative and doing things differently. This history is reflected in our Camden 2025 community vision for the borough. Camden’s External Challenge – Our Digital Future is just one of the ways we are working to achieve these ambitious plans.

We have invited senior leaders from public, private and charity sector organisations to look at how we do things now and offer a fresh perspective on how we can use technology to make Camden an even better place to live in the future. Each participant will bring a unique set of skills and expertise from organisations such as The Guardian, Government Digital Service, City of Paris and the Royal National Institute of Blind People. The group will spend time with Camden staff and residents to understand what we’re doing well, what we can do better and look for exciting new solutions to some our biggest challenges.

We will discuss a range of issues including homelessness, helping people with complex needs to stay independent for longer and supporting those furthest from the labour market into rewarding work
