Camden confirms first investment from £2million Youth Fund
Camden Community Wealth Fund’s £2million Youth Fund has invested £112,000 in OneHive, marking the Fund’s first investment.
The Fund is aimed at businesses that support and empower young people in Camden to thrive by ensuring equitable access to jobs, training, and other economic opportunities.
OneHive is a London-based ‘tech for good’ Community Investment Company. They run an online platform that supports charities and not-for-profit organisations – helping to cut down admin tasks, improve efficiency and save money so they can focus their resources on creating greater impact and helping more people.
The Youth Fund has invested in OneHive to support 10 Camden organisations which actively support young people. OneHive will support the organisations onto their platform, improving efficiency and helping them scale up support for young Camden residents.
Camden Community Wealth Fund’s Youth Panel, a diverse group of 15 young Camden residents, helped the council shape the fund and to decide the investment.
With help from the brilliant Youth Panel, I’m delighted we’ve chosen OneHive to receive the first investment from Camden Community Wealth Fund’s Youth Fund. Through their work, this will help to deliver on our Youth Mission to ensure every young Camden resident has fair access to jobs, learning and economic opportunities in the borough.
One of 15 youth panellists who helped make the decision to invest in OneHive said: “As a young Camden resident, I know how important it is for businesses to take care of young peoples’ mental health and wellbeing, to help upskill young people and to deliver meaningful and impactful diversity and inclusion initiatives. That’s why, along with Camden Council, we decided to invest in OneHive so they can partner with Camden-based businesses who are already doing this. I’m very appreciative to have been involved in the Youth Fund and I’m excited to see how many young people this helps!”
Rushab Shah, CEO at OneHive, said: “We are proud to receive investment from Camden Community Wealth Fund’s Youth Fund – especially because young Camden residents were so involved in decision-making. If you’re a Camden organisation that is helping young people through confidence building, mental health support or diversity and inclusion initiatives, I’d love to hear from you and help you scale your impact ‘one hive at a time’.
