Camden celebrates Pride this June

June is internationally recognised as Pride Month which celebrates LGBTQI+ communities around the world and campaigns for equal rights for everyone.

I want to wish everyone in Camden a Happy Pride Month. In Camden we see this as a chance to celebrate all our LGBTQI+ residents and community groups and the contributions they make to the borough, and renew our commitment to pushing for equal rights for everyone, however they identify or whatever their sexuality. We stand united against homophobia and transphobia this month and every month – Camden is no place for hate. We are really proud to partner with Forum+ who are running a number of events to celebrate Pride month and to think together about the work still to do to achieve equality.

We are proud to host so many organisations at the forefront of LGBTQI+ equality and liberation in Camden – from Forum+, Switchboard LGBT+, Opening Doors London, Mosaic LGBT+ Young Persons’ Trust and Gendered Intelligence. I encourage everyone in Camden to think about how they can support the fight for LGBTQI+ equality this month – whether through learning, donating or taking action in your community.
