Active for All Day inspires disabled residents to get active

Recently Talacre Community Sport Centre in Kentish Town hosted the annual Active for All day, a special day for disabled people and their families to try out the many sport and physical activity opportunities across the borough.

The event, now in its sixth year, saw over 250 people take part in a range of activities including archery, wheelchair basketball, non-contact boxing, cycling, football, gymnastics, and trampolining.

Partners Camden Council and GLL put on free activities throughout the day, offering people coached taster sessions and activities. The event was attended by the Mayor of Camden Councillor Nadia Shah and Councillor Abdul Hai, Cabinet member for Customers, Communities and Culture.

“It is great to see so many people coming along and trying out the different activities that are on offer across our borough.

“Camden has a wide range of inclusive activities across all our leisure centres. With a fantastic concessionary offer the number of members is growing fast and today’s event demonstrates how much fun you can have whilst also improving your health and being sociable.”
