Update for Dorney residents – Saturday 9 September

At approximately midday today (Saturday 9 September) the council received reports of a burning smell in the Dorney block. As a precaution floors 17 to 21, where the burning smell was strongest, were evacuated.

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) could not determine the cause of the smell and allowed residents to return. They were called again later to further reports on the 11th and 21st floors, and as a precaution floors 11 to 21 were evacuated, just prior to 3PM.

The cause of the burning smell has since been identified by the LFB as originating from a lift motor, which is currently being replaced. All residents have since been allowed to return to their homes.
