Two days left to get involved in our Voluntary and Community Sector consultation

Our formal consultation looking at how Camden’s Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) organisations can be best supported in the future comes to an end on Wednesday, 4 November.

We need to reduce our budget for supporting VCS organisations by £700,000 in order to help achieve the significant financial savings that need to be made across the Council by 2018.

However, we understand the vital role our VCS plays in improving the lives of local people in the borough and have worked with the sector to arrive at a proposal for future support which will see us continue to invest £5.1 million in the sector.

We have used this as an opportunity to look at how funding is currently allocated to VCS organisations in Camden and how it could be better allocated in the future to help achieve the outcomes of the Camden plan.

Over the past few weeks we have been calling for your views on our proposal before a final decision is made at the Cabinet meeting in December. We’d like to get the opinions of as many people as possible, so if you or anyone you know benefits from the great work our VCS does, people encourage them to share their views.

You can find out more about the new proposal and complete our survey online at www.camden.gov.uk/VCSconsultation

The consultation will close on 4 November 2015.
