Summer community days

Free activities including arts and crafts, face-painting and dance performances.

This year Camden is celebrating the UK/India year of culture with Camden Kalā, a programme of events celebrating the links between India and Camden. As part of the festivities we are holding free community days on local estates.

There will be a host of family activities, including arts and crafts, table tennis, yoga, henna art and face painting. Our project paisley workshops offer a chance to experiment with pattern and print, and the events will showcase traditional dance performances, including folk and bhangra, by South Asian dance company Akademi. Refreshments will be available, along with a chance to win a free cookery class or a meal at a local Indian restaurant.

There’ll also be a chance to speak to Council staff about local services including healthy living, housing options, and recycling. The fire service will be on hand to talk about fire safety and the enhanced measures we are putting in place to ensure resident safety.

Thank you to everyone who came to our event at Peckwater Estate on Wednesday 2 August. The next two fun days are:

Tuesday 15 August, 1 to 5pm

Kilburn Grange Park NW6 2JL

Wednesday 23 August, 1 to 5pm

The Open Space

Swiss Cottage NW3 5EL
