Summer activities for children, young people and families

School's out next week, the summer holiday begins - and there's lots of great activities for children, young people and families to enjoy in Camden.

For children and young people aged eight to 19 (up to 25 with learning difficulties or disabilities) we've put together an exciting programme of activities, many of them free.

Summer youth activities

Local youth centres, including those run by the council and voluntary sector, are offering trips to adventure parks, ice rinks, go-karting tracks and other attractions; sports, including basketball and football tournaments such as the Camden Unity Cup on 7 August; DJ-ing and music workshops; photography, media and film production; arts and crafts; cooking and life skills, as well as volunteering and work-related opportunities to build up your CV.

Read or download your guide to what’s on over the school holiday here or pick up a copy from your local youth centre.

Camden Summer University

One of the highlights is Camden Summer University - which offers over 70 free courses for young people aged 13 to 19, including film-making, animation, painting, pottery, photography, journalism, fashion, drama, music, baking, trampolining, football, motorcycle mechanics and off-road riding, and personal safety courses for both young women and young men.

Camden Summer Programme

Meanwhile, our wider Camden Summer Programme has something for everyone - from families with children under five and upwards, to cultural, sporting and community events for all ages. Check out the full Summer Programme here.
