National Apprenticeships Week 2015

National Apprenticeship Week runs from 9 to 13 March and is a chance to celebrate apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on individuals, businesses and the economy. Our apprenticeships team has planned a varied line-up of events to promote apprenticeships to local young people, including information sessions at job centres, schools and hostels.

The team is hosting a public apprenticeship awareness day at King’s Cross Construction Skills Centre on Wednesday 11 March. The event involves workshops with recruiting employers to promote the fantastic vacancies they have on offer. In the afternoon, young people can hone their employability skills and learn how to make the best first impression via a series of speed interviews! For more details on this event, please call 020 7974 5161.

On Thursday 12 March, the team will celebrate the achievements of existing apprentices and acknowledge the support and commitment of their managers at their annual ‘Big Thank You’ at the Grange Hotel, Holborn. This event offers a chance to reflect on the progress made by the many apprentices who have benefitted from the Council’s scheme over the past year.
