Mayor of Camden’s Camden Market Christmas Stall

On Monday 18 December, the Mayor of Camden, Richard Cotton, will be running a special stall at Camden Market.

From 10am, the Mayor will be accepting donations for his annual toy appeal, and new socks and underwear for his chosen charity, a local homeless project called C4WS.

Over the winter months, C4WS operate shelters that can accommodate up to sixteen people a night, offering an evening meal, a clean bed and breakfast in the morning. Throughout this particularly cold time of year, these volunteer led shelters are a lifeline for members of our homeless community.

At 1pm, local pianist and C4WS graduate, Francois Pierron will play a short set at the market stall. Francois learned to play the piano using the public piano in St Pancras Station whilst he was homeless. Having stayed at C4WS’s shelter we’re particularly pleased to have him along as living proof of the great work C4WS do.

The Mayor of Camden said, “The life expectancy of a homeless person is 30 years shorter than average so every pound you give will help to save lives”

In addition to new pairs of socks and underwear, the Mayor will be accepting monetary donations. Camden Market have kindly agreed to match any donations made on Monday, so anything you can give is greatly appreciated.
