Leader statement on Westminster terror attack

Following yesterday's terror attack on Westminster, Leader of Camden Council, Councillor Sarah Hayward, has made the following statement:

Councillor Sarah Hayward, Leader of Camden Council
"We are deeply saddened by the attack which led to the death of a police officer and a number of members of the public yesterday.

“Our thanks go to the police officers and medics for their professionalism and care in keeping us safe.

"Despite the threats attached to being in a global city, such incidents are rare, and the swift actions of the emergency services in preventing further harm provide reassurance.

"We will not allow cynical attacks to divide us or to undermine our freedoms. Camden is no place for hate and we will continue to work with the police and partners to keep everyone safe.

“If you have any information relating to this incident please call the Metropolitan Police on 0800 789 321.”
