Improve your career prospects in 2015 with Camden Council

Camden Council is reminding residents that they still have the opportunity to apply for life-changing scholarship opportunities in the borough.

If you have thought about studying for a degree or returning to university but are anxious about the financial burden, the council may be able to help.

The council is working in partnership with Hult International Business School in Bloomsbury and LCA Business School in Farringdon to help Camden residents of all ages realise their potential through a range of scholarship opportunities.

The council has negotiated a range of undergraduate and post-graduate scholarships with Hult and LCA Business schools which include:

  • a fully-funded Bachelor of Business Administration degree (worth £90,000)
  • a fully-funded one year intensive Master of International Business (MIB) degree at Hult International Business School

Both courses also offer the opportunity to study overseas for up to three months in Shanghai, Boston, San Francisco or Dubai (flights and living expenses not covered).

The LCA offer includes a range of 50% funded undergraduate and postgraduate courses with LCA Business School (formerly the London College of Accountancy) which includes an MBA International.

Councillor Phil Jones, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Transport & Planning
“It’s great that the council has been able to secure these scholarships to help boost the skills and experience of local people. I have visited these institutions and seen what fantastic opportunities they can provide. I would really encourage anyone who fits the criteria and wants to expand their horizons to consider applying.

“Previous residents who have successfully applied included a 57 year old language tutor and a resident who applied for the scholarship after a period out of work.”

Liya Habte, from King’s Cross, successfully applied for a scholarship:

“Before applying, I’d been unemployed for some time and was at a real low point in my life.

“A few months later, I was amazed to find myself enrolled at one of America’s top business schools with access to world class teaching.

“Having recently graduated, my goal is to become a management consultant and use this experience to help support and improve the care system which I grew up in.”

Applications will be accepted until Friday 8 May and are open to:

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA): Candidates aged 18 plus who have achieved at least two A levels at B/C grades
  • Master of International Business (MIB): graduates with any undergraduate degree
