Have your say on Euston

The Council has developed principles for a plan to guide development around and above Euston station, and we want to know what you think.

Euston station is changing, with HS2 Ltd preparing for construction, and Network Rail, Crossrail 2 and Transport for London also thinking about how to design the station.

A fully redeveloped station would maximise opportunities for new homes, jobs, open space and routes through and around the station.

We are preparing a plan for development in the Euston station and tracks area with the Greater London Authority and Transport for London, which will both inform, and be informed by, emerging designs for the stations at Euston.

Get involved

We have prepared some principles to guide the plan, and want feedback on these from residents, community groups, voluntary organisations, businesses and anyone who uses the station.

The overarching principle is to design Euston as a new piece of city with a world-class station, and a mix of homes (including genuinely affordable housing), economic uses, open space and cultural facilities, which knits into and reconnects existing communities and areas.

The key principles that we think help to achieve this include:

  • Best use of space
  • An outward looking-station, fostering stronger relationships with nearby communities and places
  • Respecting the history of Euston
  • Designing for the future
  • Boosting the economy
  • Quality open space
  • A network of healthy streets to link into the surrounding area.

Read more about the principles and give us your views by 5pm on Monday 3 July.

We will use your feedback to refine the principles and help shape a draft planning brief for the Euston station area, which we will consult on next year.
